Share Our Road Campaign – A Community Service Message to all road users

In memory of many fallen or injured cyclists around the world, a group of concerned Malaysian cycling enthusiasts has come together and formed “Share Our Road” Group. This campaign is to create awareness amongst public on the safety distance between vehicles and cyclists.

Post Share Our Roads (SOR) Impacts

  • Influence the local KL community into taking note of road cyclists, and acknowledging cycling as a great sport and a mode of transport.
  • The Picture and Signature Petition will be submitted to the PM’s office with supporting documents from respective authorities to try our best to campaign for a bicycle lane for the entire Malaysia in conjunction of Government’s efforts of promoting Cycling Tourism.
Another upcoming Global Event – Ride of Silence places Malaysia on the global event as a participating country. The mission of the Global Ride of Silence is to honor bicyclists killed by motorists, promote sharing the road, and provide awareness of bicycling safety.
Ride of Silence, Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with KL Cycling Association and with the help on-route planning with DBKL and with proper PDRM permits and licenses application for this event to increase the safety level for the participants; hence we shall expect more to join in with us.

The Ride of Silence will be held on 16th May 2012, starts at 9pm till around 11pm with many supporting sponsors and partners. This long term campaign aims to achieve the following:-

Post Ride of Silence (ROS) Impacts

  • Increase public awareness: Cyclists have rights to the road and Share the Road with other road users. The route planned with DBKL takes place at the centre of Kuala Lumpur to create the maximum exposure in one night.
  • The Picture and Signature Banner petition with signatures is our way of feeding the authorities our voice.
